GUANARIDE - INTRODUCTION

GUANARIDE is a Mountain Bike competition consisting in five stages, and that takes place from May 19th to 23st 2010 at the Costa Rican pacific coast, between the quaint cost provinces of Guanacaste and Puntarenas.

This is a 248 miles long race. It begins in Ciudad Blanca in Liberia, city that owes its name to its characteristic white mineral floor, and comes to its end at Playa Naranjo, Puntarenas.

In each one of the stages, one goes through roads with gravel, mud, sand and through narrow paths. You will have to cross rivers inside of the Tropical Rain Forest or the “Dry Forest”. You will get to know, by riding with your bike, the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Rican pacific coast. In each of the routes you will need to master different topographies, such as hard upward and vertiginous downward slopes, as well as ride at great speed in plains.

With GUANARIDE you will explore fascinating beaches in the Pacific of Costa Rica and huge areas of Tropical Rain Forest where the main audience are the friendly Congo monkeys… don’t be surprised when you hear them encouraging you!

During the month of May, the temperature in Guanacaste and in Puntarenas fluctuates between 78°F and 93°F. The relative humidity is over 90%.

Inscriptions for GUANARIDE consist in an all inclusive pack. The competitor and the companion don’t need to worry about looking for accommodation or food.
The diet we provide is designed to provide all the needs the competitor needs. The organization is on charge of paying attention to the fact that every single hotel provides an adequate alimentation that helps for a good recovering and the later perform in each one of the stages.

Competitors stay at the best four or five stars beach resorts on the region. In each hotel they will have the opportunity to refresh in the beautiful beaches and let the waves give you a well deserved massage. Or, if you want, you can use the swimming pool.

You count with special services inclusive with the inscription payment, like a person who will take care of your personal baggage and wash your bicycle. In each of the stages, our organization will transport your case from the beginning line to the finishing line.  

Assistance stands are strategically located so that the competitor can solve his hydration and alimentation needs.
